The International Institute of Boston's (IIB) Workforce Development Department has openings for part-time ESOL and ESOL Literacy instructors. IIB is a leading multi-cultural provider of comprehensive professional and cultural services that aim to foster the success of immigrants and refugees in the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Providing ESOL instruction to students enrolled in evening classes. Planning a complete course of instruction appropriate to the assigned class level according to curriculum guidelines; preparing all classroom materials. Contributing to program planning and curriculum development; reviewing and adapting new material. As needed, coordinating course of instruction with team teachers, if appropriate. Evaluating student progress and making placement recommendations accordingly, on an ongoing basis. Writing individual student progress reports. Referring student problems/needs to ESOL Program Manager as appropriate. Maintaining records and reports, as required. Attending regularly scheduled program meetings and periodic training sessions. DOE requires 12 hours of professional development per year. Contribute to overall Workforce Development Department operations, performing other program planning and various related duties as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in related field required, related MA preferred. At least one year of adult ESOL teaching experience preferably with immigrant populations; experience with non-literate learners is helpful.

Dartmouth College, in Hanover, New Hampshire, invites applications and nominations for the Director of the College's signature Native American Program. Since 1970, when then President John Kemeny renewed the College's historic commitment to educating Native American students, more than 700 Native Americans from more than 200 tribes have attended Dartmouth College. The Director will join the campus community at a time when Native American student enrollment has reached historic levels and the College's long-standing commitment to Native Americans in higher education continues under newly inaugurated President Jim Yong Kim.

The Director will create a dynamic vision for the future of this nationally recognized program. She/he will develop and administer programs and services promoting academic success, intellectual growth and personal development of Native American students, including the development, maintenance and expression of Native American cultural identity. In collaboration with Student Support Services colleagues, student affairs staff, the Native American Council, the Native American Visiting Council, faculty, staff and alumni, she/he will foster Native student engagement and leadership development within the Native and greater campus communities. The Director will also strengthen and develop College partnerships with tribal communities, partner with Admissions and Financial Aid staff to promote Native American recruitment, and directly advise students on academic, cultural, personal, and social issues. She/he will serve as a departmental, divisional and institutional resource on Native issues.

AmeriCorps*VISTA is the only federally funded national service program that focuses on anti-poverty outcomes. AmeriCorps*VISTA members serve full-time in a community for one year. This full-time volunteer position does include a modest monthly stipend and individual health insurance coverage. The primary goal of the AmeriCorps*VISTA Volunteer position is to form and/or strengthen service-learning partnerships between NWTC programs and the community, and increase authentic service-learning experiences especially those serving children, families, and the elderly in poverty.

Position Responsibilities:
Develop, coordinate and direct the American Indian Students of Promise program of Bacone College. Provide support services dedicated to the success of each residential student academically, spiritually, and culturally.
Develop, monitor, and evaluate a learning educational plan for program participants.
Coordinate with the Director of the Center for American Indians at Bacone College to facilitate all American Indian Students of Promise recruitment, activities, and development.

Candidate should have strong communication skills, have an awareness of American Indian culture & programs and possess a historical appreciation of Bacone College. Three years experience and a MA/MS degree in a related field is preferred.
