The National Inuit Youth Council (NIYC) represents at least 60% of the Inuit population
who are under the age of 25 in all 55 Inuit communities in the six regions across Canada. The six regions are Labrador,
Nunavik, Qikiktaaluk, Kitikmeot, Kivalliq and Inuvialuit.

In 1886, the Dominion Bridge Company set out to build a cantilevered bridge over the
St. Lawrence for the Canadian Pacific Railroad. The bridge would be set on land belonging to the Kahnawake Mohawks.
In exchange, the Mohawks demanded jobs on the project.
