Title: Director of Scholarships

Position Summary: Directs and disburses over $5 million in scholarship support to American Indian Students attending Tribal Colleges and Mainstream universities.

In order to fulfill a core mission of the American Indian College Fund the Director of Scholarships manages all aspects of both the special and general scholarship programs. The special scholarship program supports American Indian students at tribal colleges and universities and at mainstream institutions and often includes programmatic components. The general scholarship program works with over 30 tribal colleges and universities to provide scholarships to American Indian students at these institutions only. The Director of Scholarships will be responsible for providing training, direction, and evaluation for all members of the scholarship team. The primary aspects of scholarship program management include recruiting, managing the on-line application process, maintaining the scholarship database, ensuring that scholarships are properly awarded, creating accurate and timely scholarship reports, managing scholarship programmatic components, and tracking and providing student data to the organization.

Title: Dean of Instruction GALLUP CAMPUS
Location: University of New Mexico

The Dean of Instruction is the College's chief academic officer who reports directly to the Executive Director and has overall responsibility for leadership and administration of the instructional program.

The Dean's leadership responsibilities include encouraging and facilitating excellence in faculty teaching, scholarly work, student success, and service with the College and the community at-large. The Dean is responsible for strategic planning and goal setting for the instructional area, oversight of the instructional budget, continuing a comprehensive assessment of academic and Career Technical programs, promoting the recruitment and retention of a diverse and talented faculty and student body, furthering education innovations, including instructional technologies within the service area, working with the faculty and administration to foster faculty development, recommending faculty for tenure and rank advancement, and building and maintaining strong relations between the College, UNM-Albuquerque, the local community and alumni. The Dean has oversight of the processes for accreditation and evaluation visits and direct surveys and studies required to determine the training, Career Technical education, community education and economic needs to the community. This individual also oversees the operation of the Center for Career and Technical Education (CCTE, an area vocational high school program). There are two offsite campuses for the Gallup Campus; Zuni and Gallup north side. The Dean will also be a member of the Dean's Council in Albuquerque, confer with the departments there and facilitate faculty dialogue with UNM-Albuquerque.

* An earned doctoral or terminal degree.
* Qualifications for tenure at the Full Professor level in one of the academic departments or programs at UNM Gallup.
* At least five years of senior level administrative experience.

Title: Faculty Research Position
Location: University of Maine

Position Summary: Native American Programs at the University of Maine invites applications for a faculty research position with a primary focus on research and outreach with Wabanaki Tribal Nations in Maine - Passamaquoddy, Penobscot, Houlton Band of Maliseets and Aroostook Band of Micmacs. The successful candidate will be expected to generate external research funding in cooperation with other Native American Programs personnel and UMaine faculty; and will be required to teach at least one course a year in Native American Studies that focuses on Wabanaki peoples. The candidate will also be expected to work with the Coordinator of Native American Research to develop research protocols with the Tribal Nations of Maine. A Ph.D. or other terminal degree is required by the time of appointment and the candidate should show promise of excellence in scholarship along with a demonstrated commitment of outreach to Native American communities. Essential Functions for the position include, but are not limited to: establish and implement an overarching communications plan to promote and expand the influence, capacity, and sustainability of the organization and its mission; establish and implement a media relations plan encompassing all aspects and services of the organization; foster working relationships with journalists, reporters, opinion and policy setters, and all print, electronic, video, and other media; establish, develop, and implement a plan to use social media to increase the influence of the organization; create consistent and uniform messages on behalf of the organization; create and build future fund development opportunities; develop and deliver training to volunteers and staff on media relations and communication plan, effective use of social media, communicating consistent organizational messages, and how to increase potential fund development opportunities for the organization; assist in man! aging the development, updating, and effective use of the technical infrastructure and website contained with the organization; tell the story of NIEA's success: create web and print news stories about NIEA in our members' communities; develop promotional material (video, web and print) for NIEA events; other innovative ways to reach and increase a diverse membership base; and other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

The College of Menominee Nation has a great new project funded by USDA and they are looking for a new employee to work as a liaison across CMN, UW Madison, and the Menominee Community to help train classroom teachers and strengthen their classroom curriculum to help develop more culturally-based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) educational materials for grades 6-12.

UW Madison is the administrator of this $4.7 million dollar USDA grant and CMN is the primary partner. All work would be carried out in Shawano and Menominee County. The primary school targets are Menominee Indian School District and Menominee Tribal School. At some point other local schools may be asked to join especially if UW/CMN want higher participation levels. Please note that CMN would be your employer and you'd have an office at CMN for this 5 year grant.
