Organizingwill be presented at a May 4 event in New York City.
Native
Youth are building awareness, capacity and a real infrastructure
for self-determination in our communities, reads the research.
This work, if allowed to become rooted and prosper, will provide
the essential elements for restoring and creating healthy Native
communities.
Presenters
include Carly Hare, the executive director at Native
Americans in Philanthropy, Nat Williams, with the Hill-Snowdon
Foundation, and Ray Yazzie, from the Native
Youth Leadership Alliance.
Speakers
will give an overview of the Native youth leadership and organizing
landscape, as well as discussing what Native youth are doing to
reshape their communities.
The
event is scheduled for 8:30 to 11 a.m. at Philanthropy New York,
79 Fifth Ave., fourth floor. Registration is due by May 2, but there
is no fee.
