The Environmental Protection Agency's American Indian Environmental Office (AIEO) leads the Agency-wide effort to ensure environmental protection in Indian country and to ensure that the Agency works with Tribal nations on a government-to-government basis. The Director leads advancement and implementation of the Agency's Indian Policy. The Director provides national leadership in coordinating and overseeing EPA's efforts to strengthen public health and environmental protection in Indian country, with a special emphasis on building Tribal capacity to implement environmental programs. Issues are complex, often having a direct impact on federal Indian law and jurisdiction. Issues require proven diplomatic and technical skills to advise and assist the Assistant Administrator and other top-level officials in EPA, and to negotiate with other Federal agencies, the Executive Office of the President, and other stakeholders. The University of Oregon Ethnic Studies Department is establishing a pool of applicants for short-term teaching appointments in the following fields: African American, Arab American, Asian/Pacific American, Chicana/Chicano, Latina/Latino, Native American, and comparative ethnic studies. Positions may be part-time, temporary, limited duration appointments not to exceed one year however, these positions are renewable for up to three years. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis and pool will remain active one year or until all available positions have been filled. Screening of applications will take place as positions become available and continue until positions are filled. The first screening will begin after March 31st 2010.

Candidates with a Ph.D. are preferred but candidates with a Master’s degree or who have advanced to candidacy in a Ph.D. program will also be considered. New Media Arts Instructor
This instructor, in collaboration with the Department Chair, will take the lead in the development and delivery of required courses in interactive media, animation, and related graphic design courses. In addition, incumbent will function in a leadership role in developing the new media arts curriculum and assessment of student learning.

Math Instructor
The Math Instructor will lead the development and delivery of required courses in college math including algebra and geometry. In addition, faculty member will function as a Math Lead, taking a leadership role in developing the math curriculum and assessment, which will include supervising and hiring qualified adjunct math faculty, and collaborating with and reporting to the chair of Essential Studies. The University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks a Repatriation Coordinator to oversee compliance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act. The position is a three year 12 month lectureship in the Department of Anthropology; The Repatriation Coordinator directs a small part-time staff and teaches two courses a year that complement the offerings of the Anthropology Department and the Certificate Program in Native American Indian Studies.
