Daniel Borja Ramirez, MFA

Daniel Ramirez is born on June 1st, 1953 and is a certified descendent of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan. His mother was full blood Saginaw Swan Creek Black River Chippewa. For many years Daniel has dedicated himself to becoming the best painter of contemporary woodland images and his dedication has been in memory of his mother. With her as an inspiration, he succeeded to receive his Bachelor degree and a Master in Fine Arts, both from the University of Michigan, and has built a successful art business. Daniel has won multiple awards in prestigious art competitions across the Country. He is now a well recognized Indian Artist for his work in watercolors and acrylics and for his drawings in charcoal and pastels. Daniel Ramirez paintings are displayed in several museums as part of their permanent collection and his work is represented in over 50 art stores and galleries from New York City to Los Angeles. His collector base is well developed and they show a constant interest in his new work.

Daniel's company Native Image has been in existence for over fifteen years. He continues to create Woodland Arts and Designs through his consulting with several Native American Tribes throughout the entire United States. He has been presenting his work in the most prestigious Indian Markets, Nationwide Conferences, Academic programs and events, National Trade shows and many other Art Shows and Pow Wows throughout the Country for more than ten years. His business has been a leader in contemporary art innovation, thus demonstrating the range of new directions in Indian Art. Daniel's innovations include interpreting Woodland Arts using digital imagery, and designing and incorporating these images in several other new media. In 1999, Daniel received the prestigious Dupont Antron Award for his work in carpet design.
