Assistant or Associate Professor of English, North Dakota State University

PENDING FUNDING: The English Department of North Dakota State University announces a search for one or more tenure-track positions in English Studies, Ph.D. required. We invite applications for dedicated teachers with active research agendas to enrich a department with strengths in Composition and Rhetoric, and American and British Literature. Possible areas of interest might include, but are not limited to: North American literature/studies (with preferred emphasis in NA, multicultural, colonial); linguistics (applied, sociolinguistics); creative writing (new media, poetry, fiction, non-fiction). MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: include university level teaching experience and ability, experience with instructional technology, demonstrable potential for academic scholarship, and effective interpersonal communication skills. Database/Research Librarian- (Bishop, CA) The Owens Valley Career Development Center's Language Revitalization Programs, seeks a dynamic, service-oriented individual to play a key role on its resource services team. The database/research librarian assists with the day-to-day work of the language preservation team and bears specific responsibility for the overall quality control of the media and materials database. To carry out this mission, the database/research librarian will work with support staff performing database maintenance. Analyze and resolve database problems. Create documentation, reports, and procedures, to duplicate, label, and file language media. A Bachelors Degree in Library or Information Science is highly desired. Coordinator of Second Language- (Bishop, CA) The Nuumu Yadoha Language program is dedicated to preserving the various dialects of the Owens Valley Paiute Language and teaching them in a community setting. Under minimal supervision of the Nuumu Yadoha program director, the coordinator of second language acquisition will coordinate planning and curriculum development for the Language program. Applicants must have a BA or BS in Linguistics, Education, Anthropology or a related field with a documented emphasis in second language acquisition or language instruction. Construction Trades Instructor/Project Foreman- (Bishop) Under the joint supervision of the Program Site Director and the Facilities Manager, the individual(s) in this position are responsible for the on-site supervision and instruction of students enrolled in an accredited construction trades vocational education program. Five years in construction trades, two years of teaching/training experience preferred. BA/BS degree in Construction Management or other relevant major or verifiable journeyman level skill in construction trades. Preference will be given to applicants who possess a BA or BS degree. (Contract Position Only/No Benefits) $40,000 (open until filled)

Associate Director of Admission/Coordinator of Multicultural Recruitment

Responsibilities:
Initiate and oversee public relations, marketing and efforts directed particularly towards the recruitment of students of color to the college; Coordinate efforts across the college regarding the enrollment of students of color; Develop and maintain a network of recruitment sources beyond traditional secondary schools; develop targeted student of color recruiting efforts involving faculty, students, alumnae and various campus organizations; provide strategic leadership and direction for on and off campus admission programs to increase applications and yield of admitted students of color; serve as a liaison to the Office of Institutional Diversity and Office of Multicultural Affairs and as an active participant in campus organizations and events addressing issues relevant to students, faculty and alumnae of color; supervise admission counselor(s); read, evaluate and vote on admissibility of candidates for admission; plan and coordinate approximately five to eight weeks of travel to recruit students; handle correspondence with students, parents, counselors, agencies and other constituencies with emphasis on multicultural recruitment.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree, graduate degree preferred; minimum of three years of admission or related experience with evidence of progressively more responsibility; Experience with multicultural recruitment process a plus; Sensitivity to the challenges of multicultural recruitment and commitment to diversity in a residential liberal arts community a must; Good humor and grace under pressure appreciated. Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Vocational Rehabilitation/Director of Research, the incumbent develops research strategies and collection policies and procedures; conducts research in vocational rehabilitation for a five year federally funded project; and supervises research technicians. A Bachelor's Degree is required and a Master's Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation is preferred. Position contingent on federal funding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Person must adhere to the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe's Policies & Procedures; Assists in the recruitment and training of Tribal research technicians; Assists in conducting a Tribal research program in vocational rehabilitation; including data collection and analysis, reporting and dissemination activities; Consults with the Director of Research to implement the project research goals. Identifies and prioritizes all tasks; Manages Research Website ensuring availability of updated information on project activities; Writes project summary reports; Supervises research technicians; and oversees the scheduling, data collection and analysis for descriptive study of Tribal disability needs; Promotes public relation via inter-Tribal information exchange and education, academic/ Professional information exchange, and public lectures.

Admission Possible is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping low-income young people in the Twin Cities gain admission to college. We identify students with the motivation and potential for college, and then provide them with (1) ACT/SAT test preparation; (2) intensive assistance in the college application process; (3) aid in the financial aid application
process; and (4) guidance in transition to college. Since 2000, we have helped more than 87% of our students earn admission to college!

We have two types of positions available: (1) Full-time AmeriCorps Members and (2) Full-time VISTA Members.

Full-time AmeriCorps:
Serve as Admission Possible representative in a Minneapolis or St. Paul public high school. Work directly with juniors providing ACT/SAT preparation sessions and working with students on an individual basis providing guidance and subject specific assistance. Work with seniors on an individual basis completing the college application process including: essay writing, applications for admission, scholarships, and the FAFSA. Responsibilities also include but are not limited to leading annual recruitment efforts, maintaining correspondences with school administrators, and attending weekly staff meetings. Ideal for future teachers, counselors, and youth workers.

Full-time VISTA:
VISTA Members work primarily at the Admission Possible headquarters helping to build organizational capacity. Focus areas include: leveraging volunteers, coordinating student alumni relations, implementing communications strategy, and fundraising.
