New elementary, junior high to rise at old boarding school site |
TUBA CITY - For over 75 years the old Tuba City Boarding School dormitories have loomed over the community and dominated the skyline. Such notables as Navajo Nation presidents Kelsey Begaye and Peterson Zah attended Tuba City Boarding School during their elementary school years. But this week, the buildings will be demolished to make way for a new elementary and junior high school and the last remains of a boarding school past will end. |
