	Mother's Day Ideas

Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May. These ideas will be great for your mother, grandmother, aunts, sisters, friends and even your teacher!! Thanks to Enchanted Learning for the ideas.
Painted Flower Pot
	Materials: Supplies needed: Unglazed clay (terracotta) flowerpot Acrylic paint Paintbrushes Optional: A pack of seeds or potting soil and a young plant Optional: Cellophane and ribbon to wrap the plant pot and plant
Directions:
Using acrylic paints, decorate a clay paint pot. Butterflies, plants, or polka dots are nice, simple decorations. If you will be adding a plant to the flowerpot, a painting of that plant is a nice touch. Let it dry completely. Optional: fill the plant pot with potting soil and plant the seed of a fast-growing flower (like marigolds) or put in a small plant (herbs like chives are a nice choice). Wrap with cellophane, and tie with a pretty ribbon.

Twig Easel Craft
This tiny wooden easel is made from twigs - the picture is drawn on cardboard that is framed by twigs.
	Materials: Twigs Garden clippers (have an adult cut the twigs) Hot glue gun (have an adult apply the hot glue) Twine or yarn Scissors Cardboard (a small piece) Crayons, markers, or paint
Directions:
Cut three long twigs and one short one. Hot glue two of the long twigs and the short twig together, forming an A shape. Wrap the joints with twine or yarn. Glue the remaining long twig to the A shape you just made, forming a tripod (a three-legged stand). Wrap the joint with twine or yarn.. Cut a piece of cardboard that will fit on your easel. Paint or draw a picture on the cardboard. Cut four twigs to fit around your painting. Using hot glue, glue the twigs around the cardboard, forming a rustic frame. Rest your framed picture on your easel for a really cute display.
