Employment, Training & Business Resources
For the Native Community

by Cristala Allen Executive Director - Native Workplace

Bearpath ShieldOccasionally, we, at Canku Ota, find a new website that we want to share with you. Native Workplace is one of those sites. Here's what the folks there have to say:

"Welcome to NativeWorkplace.com! We are Native people who have been working on economic development in Indian country for many years.

We noticed that there were few resources for Native people to locate jobs within our own communites, and none specifically focusing on jobs at Native-owned firms.

Almost 5000 Native owned businesses are members of American Indian Chambers of Commerce nationwide. We felt that at any given time, at least 10% of them must be looking for some type of employee. The problem is, most of these companies naturally place ads in their local newspaper and Native job seekers in the area can't tell if the job they are viewing is with a Native-owned company or not...

...So, we have created a resource site for Native job seekers to locate employment at Native firms and visa versa. Job posting is FREE to Native firms that are a member of a Native Chamber of Commerce. The job search is free as well. Other great jobs working in and around the Native community are also listed!

Additional features are: comprehensive listings for Native Chambers and Urban Indian Centers, resume' search for diversity employers, job training info, scholarships, B2B services, conference listings, solutions for Native contractors and so much more!

Native Workplace.com was launched about three weeks ago...we have already received over 3500 hits!

But we are getting more and more requests from companies and Tribes wishing to view our resume' database and we need to start posting more resume's!

A resume' is free to send, it will be kept in a password protected area for registered users only, not for public viewing."

You can send it in Microsoft Word Document format to resumes@nativeworkplace.com

You can visit Native Workplace at http://www.nativeworkplace.com
