Although "Exploitation of Native Americans" is a disturbing factor against Natives being included in the main stream, the fact is Native Americans are beautiful. It's just a matter of time before the uniqueness and flawless side of the Native American people will be on negatives for print. I, for one, have been modeling for 8 years now (I'm 19 now). I first started in a TNT special of "Geronimo" when I was 11. Who knew that several years later my cornnut teeth would fall out and I would be modeling in my spare time in college. I was raised in a single parent house hold with my mother's influence and my own desire to do something different that helped pave my way into modeling. My golden skin has not set me back but has set me apart with my dark long hair as well. I've come to further realize and appreciate that our people are unique and should be included in the mainstream too. Why shouldn't we? With the diverse population of the US the opportunity and chance for Natives to be included is as simple as us stepping forward. We can make such aspirations such as modeling and Motion Picture Production (my major) a reality. The market is always seeking new faces and unique representatives, we just have to keep our ears open and seek out the opportunities that are awaiting our commitment.
