A Mescalero Milestone The Mescalero Apache Tribe and Centex Construction Company are celebrating a milestone in the construction of the new $33.5 million K-12 school in Mescalero, N.M.
The 218,000-square-foot school represents more than just a new educational facility; it represents the Tribe members' dedication and commitment to the community and securing their future. The Mescalero Apache Tribe is the only community on the Bureau of Indian Affairs Educational Facilities Replacement Listing to start building a school with its own funds before Federal funding is available. "Children are the future of this Tribe. Their education and well-being will determine the Tribe's quality of life for years to come," stated Misquez. http://www.stockhouse.com/news/news.asp?tick=CTX&newsid=920809 |
