TICKETS SELLING FAST FOR THE THIRD ANNUAL NATIVE AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO
A consistently sold out event, the Third Annual Native American Music Awards takes place Saturday, November 11, 2000 at the Popejoy Hall in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Tickets are on-sale now and can be purchased through PROTIX at 1 800 905 3315. Ticket prices are $35.00 and $50.00. This year's awards show will feature over 15 live music performances including: Indigenous, Robert Mirabal, Litefoot, Mary Youngblood, Jana, Andrew Vasquez, Robert Tree Cody, Medicine Dream, and Bill Miller and Joanne Shenandoah plus a special closing Hall of Fame Tribute for the late Jim Pepper. Held on Veterans Day, this year's Living Legend Award will be presented to the Navajo Code Talkers. Hosted by Rodney Grant (Dances With Wolves), other special guests include: Notah Begay III, Rita Coolidge who will be awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award, John Densmore (The Doors), Paul Winter, Mickey Hart (Grateful Dead), Jennifer Warnes, Elaine Miles, Drew Lacapa, and Arigon Starr with more to be announced. culture, and The highly acclaimed Native American Music Awards has previously delivered two consecutive sold out events during National Native American Heritage Month, ranging from 1,500-2,000 in attendance.
