Rain Cloud? Dust Cloud? You decide JAMESTOWN, N.D. -- Name that baby buffalo. White Cloud, the famous albino buffalo, gave birth to a healthy female calf back in July. Since then, officials at the National Buffalo Museum where mama and baby live have been pondering the perfect name for this special calf. Soon, they realized it was a much bigger job than a few people could handle. So the museum staff is asking you to submit names for White Cloud's calf. Here are some details to get you started:
"The birth of the calf did come as a bit of a surprise for all of us since she did not test positive last fall," said Donna Zimmerman, director of the National Buffalo Museum. Mama and baby are both doing well, the museum reports. "To watch her move about the pasture," Zimmerman said, "she appears to be just another calf until she snuggles up to her not-so-ordinary mom." Send your name for White Cloud's calf in writing to Name White Cloud's Calf, National Buffalo Museum, Box 1712, Jamestown ND 58401. Be sure to include your name, address and phone number; the winner will receive a one-year family membership to the museum and a $100 gift certificate to the museum's gift shop. All entries must be received by Nov. 30. |
